Utukufu Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on beans, maize, flour, and sugar which will reinforce her initial capital.

Utukufu Group's story

Madam Jeanine is a client of Hekima and the leader of the Utukufu group. She is 39 years old and married, the mother of 6 children, including 5 school-age children and one baby. Her spouse is a chauffeur.

Madam Jeanine is a vendor, selling a variety of cooking ingredients. She enjoys over 30 years of experience in this sector, having started her business with the financial support of her husband and later partnering with Hekima in order to support her business, which has been growing progressively.

With this new loan, Madam Jeanine plans to stock up on merchandise, including items such as beans, maize, flour, and sugar. This will reinforce her initial capital. The main difficulty her business faces is a current lack of customers.

Madam Jeanine hopes to care for her children and help them continue their education.

Lastly, Madam Jeanine would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the financial support they bring to non-bankable small business owners, particularly in the context of the global Covid-19 crisis.

In order to maintain social distancing during Covid, only the group leader is photographed at this time.
