Angela's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy wood, paint, and other materials to make furniture.

Angela's story

Angela Mercedes and her family live in Los Bajos de Montecristi. It is known for its artisan crafts made from paja toquilla, wicker, piquigua, and wood. It is also known for its high quality paja toquilla hats, known as “Panama Hats” inside and outside of the country.

Angela Mercedes and her husband have a furniture making shop, and a locale where they sell sets of furniture for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, as well as tables and armoires. They make furniture to order according to the needs of their customers. This business and workshop is located in their home and they work there everyday.

This loan is to buy raw materials like wood, paint, and upholstery fabric, and to pay several utilities. At first, the social isolation left her with no work because the fear of contagion and several restrictions stopped them from going out to sell. However, now she is following the bio safety protocols.

This loan is to buy wood, paint, and other materials. Her dream is to have a bigger workshop and to open a branch somewhere else in the city, and for her family to be very healthy.
