01_Kamdiack 1 Group's story

These courageous women make up the Banc Villageois which was established in December, 2013. They live in the same village and maintain good social and professional relationships. They have successfully repaid several loans. Their primary activity is business. Madame Astou is 36 years old and is on the far right of the photo with her hand raised. She is a married woman and the mother of six children, two of whom are boys and three are in school.

Madame Astou sells clothes (dresses, shoes, sheets), incense, and perfumes. She busy her goods at the markets in the capital and resells them out of her home in the village. She draws on 4 years of experience in this business sector.

With her new loan she plans to buy dresses, sheets, buckets of incense, bottles of perfume, and 50 pairs of shoes. Her business is doing well because she has been able to sell her merchandise in the village.

With her profits she plans to strengthen her savings, take care of her family's incidental expenses, and gradually purchase some sheep to expand her flock.
