Utii Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 10 bales of secondhand clothing to strengthen her initial capital.

Utii Group's story

Mme Shwema is a client of Hekima and the leader of the "Utii" village group. She is 56 years old, married and the mother of 12 children, all of whom attend school. Her spouse is unemployed.

Shwema sells secondhand clothing. She launched this business 15 years ago with start-up funds she received from her husband. She later became involved with the Hekima program to sustain her business, which has since made steady progress.

With this new loan, Shwema will buy 10 bales of secondhand clothing to strengthen her initial capital. The challenge facing her business has to do with a lack of customers.

Shwema would like her children to pursue their education. She would also like to renovate her home. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to non-bankable business owners during the COVID-19 global crisis.

To comply with social distancing measures, only the group leader appears in the photo.
