El Recuerdo Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy corn, onion, green chili, tomato, garlic, chicken or pork, salt, banana leaves for tying, vegetable shortening, milk, dry yeast, eggs, etc. for her bakery business.

El Recuerdo Group's story

Digna is 40 years old, a single mother of three children and a business woman. She makes her living with a small business making and selling pastries and nacatamales (Nicaraguan style tamales wrapped in banana leaves). She also gets money from abroad. She started working as a baker after learning it from her mother and she took out a loan to start working on her own.

She is requesting a loan from Fundenuse with Kiva funds to buy the raw materials to sell bread and nacatamales. Her goal is to build two rooms in her house and to open a small restaurant in her place in the future.

She belongs to the El Recuerdo solidarity group with Luz and Maryuris who make their living selling clothing, pastries and tortillas.
