A loan helped to hire men to help with the harvesting of her yam crops.

Kafo'atu's story

This is Kafo'atu. She is 50 years old, and she is a mother to her five children, and a wife of a farmer.

Kafo'atu and her husband runs a farming business where they grow crops for commercial reasons and also for the daily meal of their family. On their plantation, they only grow yams, but yams of different kinds. Kafo'atu helps her husband in the plantation and she also helps with the marketing of the crops. It has been many years now since they started their business, and it is one of their family's main source of income. She and her husband work hand-in-hand with their business, but they also need help with the harvesting of the yam, for her husband cannot harvest it alone.

Therefore Kafo'atu applied for a loan to have enough money to hire a group of men to help her husband with harvesting their yam, for they will send a container overseas and also for marketing locally.
