La Vega San Pablo Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy used American clothing and ingredients for her chocolate goodies.

La Vega San Pablo Group's story

Miguelina is the President of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank "La Vega San Pablo". She is 28 years old, married and has 2 children aged 3 and 9. Her husband is a mechanic.

Miguelina was able to attend school through the 3rd grade and has made sure her 9-year-old is able to study by having 2 businesses to supply the educational funds. She sells second hand clothes, as well as making and selling artisan chocolate goodies.

She is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more used American clothes, and cacao, canela, and sugar for her mouth watering chocolate goodies!

There are 7 ladies in the Trust Bank who speak Spanish, thw formal language of Guatemala. Each month, they make loan payments and participate in educational training sessions that are developed by a Facilitator. Topics are drawn from 4 areas (business, health, family, women), all part of the "Microcredit Plus" program of loans, education, health care. This month, the Facilitator, using diagrams and role playing, engages the ladies in ways to grow their businesses, and develop new businesses. These training sessions will help the ladies have success with their businesses selling chicken by the pound, personal care products by catalog, second hand clothing, chocolate, or raising animals.

Thank you, KIVA investors, for giving a helping hand to Miguelina so she can provide an education for her children using income from her successful business!
