A loan helped to build a safe latrine at home.

Srorn's story

Srorn, age 54, is a widowed woman and has one child. She lives with her child in the area of Prey Kabbas district, Takeo province. She has an occupation as a farmer and owns and manages a few hectares of farmland. She grows and plants agricultural produce and sells it to the local market in each harvesting season. Rice is the staple food of Cambodians and is their most important field crop. Rice is mainly produced during the wet season, but dry season harvests are an increasing component. Yield has increased from year to year, thanks to access to better fertilizers and other inputs. Her child assists her greatly with the agriculture activities.

Currently, her house doesn't have a safe latrine, so she cannot provide a sanitary latrine to her family members. She is requesting a loan to build a safe latrine at home. In this way she hopes to increase the value of her home and improve sanitation, ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family and protect the environment. With the support of this loan, she will be able to purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement to build a safe latrine and pay for labor costs. She believes that through her hard work and perseverance, she will be able to attain a better standard of living someday.
