A loan helped to pay for filler to cover the mud around her house.

Soklin's story

Soklin, 24, is married and the mother of two children who attend school. She lives with her family in the Prey Kabbas district of Takeo province. Soklin and her husband help each other earn enough money to support their family by weaving, using a method of textile production in which two sets of yarn or thread are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth. They also sometimes use other methods, including knitting, crocheting, felting, and braiding or plaiting. They earn approximately USD 7 per day and their expenses include daily meals, clothes, medicine, and education fees.

Because money is in short supply, she has applied for a loan for USD 2,000 to pay for ground filler to cover the mud around her house. With this loan, she can pay for the fill and provide her family with a good environment, fresh air, protection from illness, and good living conditions. In the future, she aims to renovate her old house and push her children to continue studying at university. She believes that through hard work and perseverance she will be able to attain a better standard of living in the future.
