Meme's story

Meme is 33 years old and married with five children. She lives in a rural village in Samoa. She owns and operates a taxi stand. She has been running her business for nine years now. She’s a hardworking, person who would do anything to help her family.

She became a borrower with SPBD five years ago and has successfully borrowed and repaid five loans. Due to her successful history, she is one of a select group that is eligible for a larger loan of $12,000. She will use this loan to buy another taxi.

With this loan, she will also be supporting her community by providing services (transportation). In the past, Meme has used the profits from her business to employ local people as her business grows and to help her children’s education. In the future, she hopes to build a taxi station at her place to expand her business. Her dream is to build a taxi station at different places to cover the whole country with the good services of her business by providing transportation. She became a member of SPBD in 2010.
