A loan helped to buy assorted goods for her shop and some chicks for poultry farming.

01_Keur Salla Derguene Group's story

This banc villageois, which was created in December 2009, takes in this group of ten brave women who all live in the same village. They share values of friendship, kinship, and solidarity. They have benefited from and reimbursed several loans successfully. Their main activities are in farming and trading.

Madame Marème is 34 years old and is the representative of the group; she's standing to the right in the photo, wearing a white t-shirt and lifting her hand. She is married and is the mother of five children, three of which are girls. Her children are all in school. (N.B.: On the left side of the photo, there is a baby being carried by its mother. Thank you for understanding.)

Madame Marème is active in raising poultry and she stocks up from wholesalers and works in her village out of her home. She also has a shop and has more than 10 years of experience in the retail sector.

She wants to buy 100 chicks, 10 bags of poultry feed (starting, growth, and finish), will also pay for preventative medicine. She is going to provide for her shop by buying various items and food products. She sells her goods in her locality and in the areas around her village and is able to sell her chickens without any challenges to make a good profit.

The income she earns will allow her to support her needs, to add to her savings, and to help her husband take care of their family's expenses.
