01_Keur Cheikh Awa Balla Group's story

These brave women are members of a "banc villageois" inaugurated in December 2008, they maintain good socio-professional relationships. Their main activity is commerce.
Madame Awa, who is 64 years old, is the representative, seated to the right with hand upraised. She is married and mother to seven children (five boys, two girls) of whom six are adults and married, and the youngest is still a student.
Madame Awa sells vegetables, she buys from market gardeners and resells at the city's central market.
She will buy fifteen sacks of carrots, ten sacks of turnips, thirteen sacks of cabbage, and pay for the transportation and other various costs. Her extensive experience is her strength in her business, and she has a lot of clients.
Her profits allow her to help her children and her husband in the household expenses, but also to save with the "banc villageois".
