A loan helped to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production to earn more profit to support her family during this hard economic period.

Rosephine's story

Rosephine is a woman who works with absolute certainty towards success. She lives in Kitui, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain, dairy, and crop farming. She is 53 years old.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Rosephine is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production to earn more profit to support her family during this hard economic period. She is hopeful that all Kiva lenders are adhering to the safety measures in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
