Uwezo Group's story

Marie-Jeanne is a client of Hekima Microfinance Institution and the head of the village group called « Uwezo» . She is married, 57 years old and the mother of 6 children who all attend school. Her partner is a plumber.

She sells used clothing and started the business 30 years ago with the startup funds from her husband. Later she joined the Hekima program to support the business and during this time she progressively evolved.

With this new loan, she will purchase stocks of 9 bales of used clothing, that will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge facing her activity is linked to a lack of customers.

She would like for her children to continue their studies and to be able to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support the contribute to busness owners who don't have cash flow in this crisis context linked to covid-19.
