Daurice's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as a solar light.

Daurice's Group's story

Pictured above is Daurice, often described as an extremely hardworking individual. She is 47 years old and, as a group leader, she is representing her group of nine farmers in Mumias district, Kenya. She is married and has six children.

Daurice is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again, as this means that she is able to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Daurice says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2017, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Daurice will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase one solar light as well as seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.25 acres.
