01_Medina Takku Liggey Group's story

This group of three women took the opportunity to join the banc villageois put into place in their town in December 2008. They live in the same neighborhood and are parents, neighbors, and friends who have good relationships.

Their main activity is business. They have a good handle on their loans. Madame Fatou is the group representative. She is 51 and is standing at right in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and doesn't have any children yet.

Madame Fatou is active in selling various grocery items. She buys from the wholesalers at the weekly market to resell in her town. She has more than 10 years of experience in this area.

With her new loan, she will buy 200 kgs of smoked fish and three jugs of black-eyed peas to resell for a good profit margin. She manages to sell out of her stock without difficulty. Her income will allow her to bolster her savings and develop her business.
