Rael's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farming inputs, such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer, to boost the quality of her produce and elevate her living standards.

Rael's story

Rael is a 46-year-old mother of 3 school-going children. She lives in Maua, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms as well as large agricultural enterprises.

Rael is a farmer who has always strived to provide for her family. Farming has been her only way of bringing transformation to her family, including educating her children. She rears dairy cows and grows various crop varieties.

The quality of Rael’s crops has dwindled due to poor farm inputs. This has resulted in low demand for her crops and has negatively impacted her sales. Rael is seeking help to purchase farming inputs, such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer, to boost the quality of her produce.

With the inputs, Rael will be assured a bumper harvest, which will open new markets for her crops and increase her profits. Unlike local money lenders who charge exorbitant interests on loans, Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva have entered into a partnership that aims to improve the lives of small-holder farmers by providing them with loans and encouraging them to save.
