Rael's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and high-quality fertilizers.

Rael's story

Rael is a 46-year-old mom. She is from a remote village in the Nakuru area of Kenya. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her family a good start by providing them with a high-quality life.

Rael has a farm where she grows different crops. She earns additional income from a personal business. The Nakuru area is a favorable one for farming, so Rael requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo for KES 30,000, which she will use to buy farm inputs (such as fertilizer) to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and expand her business.

Being a poor woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her remote village, is very challenging. Rael feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like her.

She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions but her biggest dreams are to become independent and to secure her family’s future. As a borrower, Rael has a good credit history.
