Toupong's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase iron roof sheets to build her retail shop and 40 liters of benzene and 40 liters of mazut fuel to stock her small fuel station to increase her income.

Toupong's story

Toupong lives in a village located 50 kilometers from Port Vila City. Her community is quite large and the main industry is agriculture. Ni-Vanuatu relies on agriculture for food and income so making an earning off of agriculture has been satisfactory in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Toupong is 40 years of age and is married to a local farmer. She has four children, aged 21, 20, 13, and 9. Her two eldest are no longer in school while her two youngest still attend primary school.

Toupong has requested a loan to purchase a few iron roof sheets to build her retail shop and 40 liters of benzene and 40 liters of mazut fuel to stock up her small fuel station to better provide for her customers. She wants to start a retail shop to make extra income and to provide for her customers. With the revenue earned, she will pay for her children's education so they can have a better future.

Toupong has been in this business for over a year. This is her third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has faithfully repaid her previous loans in a timely manner. As her business grows due to loans, Toupong feels empowered to expand it so her children can have something of their own.
