Renacer De Granillos Community-Owned Bank's story

This beautiful community, deep in the mountains of Honduras, is located over 3,000 feet, where we find a group of agriculturists with the vision of helping many families, through a community-owned bank. This vision occurred back in 2012. The group worked hard and together so that their members could gain access to financial literacy and funds within their own community bank and gain financial inclusion, knowing they are not considered by the mainstream banking system.

The community of Granillos is mainly dependent on coffee plantations for their economic growth and development. Thus, bringing the opportunity of access to funds through financial inclusion will create a positive impact for the entire community.

Renacer de Granillos Community-Owned Bank started with only 10 members and now has over 25 active members and they are seeking their first Kiva loan to provide fertilizer and equipment for their coffee plantations.

Let's help Renacer de Granillos Community-owned bank grow their coffee plants to brew a great cup of coffee!
