01_Diakhao Kanda Group's story

This group of seven highly active women is from the banc villageois established in the area since May 2009. These women share the values of solidarity and camaraderie. Their main business is sales. They have successfully paid back over ten loans already.

Madame Aminata, 53 years old and the group representative, is on the left side of the photo with her hand raised. She is married and a mother of six children, two of whom are daughters. One of her sons is married.

Madame Aminata sells food products. She buys her stock in bulk from the central market and resells the products from her shop inside her home. She has accrued over 20 years of experience.

With her loan, she is going to buy ten bags of sugar, five 20-liter containers of oil, and ten bags of rice. She will also pay for travel fees and customs duties. She has a good profit margin and resupplies customers who pay on a monthly basis. Her earnings allow her to support herself, to help her husband with expenses, and to save at the banc villageois.
