Puerto Nuevo Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy corn flour to sell.

Puerto Nuevo Group's story

The group called Puerto Nuevo. It is made up of twenty women. It is a new committee started with great desire from each member to improve their quality of living and that of their families.

One of the members is Felisa. She is a self-sacrificing person who looks for a way to be able to provide the income for her household. In spite of her problems speaking she never gives up. She mentions that she has been unable to speak since her birth but doesn't let that stop her.

She wants to undertake the sale of corn flour which is one of the main ingredients of sopa (like corn bread) and chipas (cheese bread), traditional Paraguayan foods.

She is grateful for the opportunity she is receiving to be able to invest in this undertaking that she wants to do.

Note: There is only one person in the photo but it is a group loan. A group photo is not possible without a gathering of people, prohibited because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
