Girasoles Group's story

This Girasoles communal bank, organized by Pro Mujer in Masaya, Nicaragua. The members are active entrepreneurs and payors. Each prior loan has offered them the opportunity to grow.

The members have diverse businesses such a bodega, selling nacatamales [typical Nicaraguan tamales], renting traditional costumes, a furniture workshop, selling cosmetics, and selling handicrafts.

Josefa Elizabeth (who has her hand raised) is an outstanding client. She is a single mother whose son is in secondary school.

She dreams of improving her business. A new loan will allow her to invest in wood for the furniture workshop. Although the country's economic crisis and the pandemic have caused serious challenges, she has managed to survive. Soon, she plans to improve the infrastructure of her workshop. She is counting on you in order to invest and grow!
