A loan helped a woman-owned business provide low-cost performing arts exposure to youth in their community.
Sara and I are the co-owners of "The Footlights Theatre Performing Arts Center". We met and became fast friends as students and then co-workers at Footlights. Neither of us lost our love for this program or performing arts, and have joined now as co-owners to take Footlights to new heights. Sara has spent her life dancing, teaching dance, and as an adult devotes her time to continuing her dance education through master's classes and dance history through a variety of instructors in order to maintain dance diversity. Her passion for dance and dance education drives her to continue to be the best she can be and pass those skills on. While I have spent the past 25 years involved in community theater and have devoted my time to furthering Footlights. I hold a Bachelors in Theater Arts and am pursuing a Masters in Arts Administration. My passion for the impact performing arts has on youth is a driving force to keep Footlights advancing. Together, Sara and I make a strong team filled with passion for performing arts and the youth in the Erie community. We know firsthand how theater and dance can change someone's life because these things have changed our lives for the better. We want to give this opportunity to any student who wants it, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. We believe all students deserve to have to perform arts in their lives and are dedicated to providing it.
