Rebby Bob's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for baking ingredients to stock her kitchen to better provide for her customers and also for housing materials to build her home.

Rebby Bob's story

Rebby Bob lives in a rural suburb 11 kilometres from Port Vila city. Her community is small, and the main industries are food and agriculture. Ni-Vanuatu rely a lot on these industries so making an income has been quite all right.

Rebby Bob is 46 years of age and the mother of one. Her daughter is grown and has her own family. Rebby Bob is married to a provincial health worker who is a very supportive husband, They both live in their own home.

Rebby Bob has asked for a loan to help purchase ingredients that she will use to bake delicious bread at an affordable price for her customers. Rebby Bob also prepares Laplap, the national dish of Vanuatu. Laplap is prepared by grating breadfruit, bananas, and taro or yam roots into a vegetable paste. The paste is then wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in an underground stone oven with fresh coconut cream. She bakes it to sell to her customers as an extra income.

Rebby Rob will also use this loan to buy housing materials to build her home. She will use the loan and the revenue earned from her baking business to make a beautiful finish to her home.

South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd has supported Rebby Bob for over 3 years now, and this is her fourth loan. She successfully repaid her previous loans on time.

Rebby Bob is proud that she has her own baking business to support and upgrade her family's living conditions.
