Tierras Del Sol Community-Owned Bank's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to provide access to coffee farmers to purchase fertilizer and supplies.

Tierras Del Sol Community-Owned Bank's story

High up in the mountains of Honduras, you will discover a hard-working group of people who make possible one of the greatest cups of coffee through their carefully tendered coffee bean plantations.

The Tierras del Sol Community-owned bank provides financial inclusion and access to working capital to many of its members who would otherwise have to forfeit more than 65% of their harvest earnings in order to purchase fertilizer and farming supplies. This practice has hindered some families from achieving financial independence and has negatively impacted overall community growth over the past years.

The president of the Community-owned bank, Marvin, although only 29 years of age, has encouraged and brought new energy to this group that has grown to 32 members. The growth has sparked a light of hope to the many farmers that over the years have worked really hard and only gotten enough to maintain their land and crops.

The community-owned bank is seeking a loan to provide its members with tools, fertilizer, and resources for the families that otherwise have no other access through mainstream financial institutions.

We believe, as does Marvin, that with your help and support, we can break the cycle of forfeiting their crops, and be able to provide access to funds to the members in this community.
