Moses's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more manure and fertilizers and other farm supplies to boost his farm production.

Moses's story

Moses is a polite, devoted, responsible, and hardworking man. Moses is 31 years old, happily married and has been blessed with 2 children.

He engages in horticulture farming to feed and provide for his family. Moses hails from a region where farming skills are passed on from one generation to another. He chose to venture into farming and he also runs a transport business with the help of his motorcycle. To sustain his family, he offers his produce to specific markets with specific needs, thus increasing his revenue.

The major challenge that farmers from his area face is at times harsh weather conditions especially when making deliveries as a lot of them use motorcycles. Moses has applied for a 50,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner Eclof Kenya, to buy farming supplies such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizer as well as hire labor.

Greater profits from an increased yield will change his life and that of his entire household, because he will be able to raise their living standards and pay for his children's education. He so far has one employee and he hopes to continue expanding his farm. Moses has a great desire to succeed and hopes that Kiva lenders will listen to his request and help him better his life. He thanks his lenders for their generous support and dreams of a stable future.
