A loan helped to buy and sell chickens and hens.

Nueva Amistad Group's story

This group includes five women who work in various productive activities, such as sale of live and butchered chicken, raising chickens, and sale of "comales" [traditional griddles].

The president, Estela, has worked for many years selling butchered chickens in her community. She also raises chickens on the patio at her house; when they grow, she sells them. She and her husband work hard to get their children ahead. Estela's dream is to be able to have an enclosure for the chickens, because her patio is not large enough for them, but she needs funds to invest in an enclosure, and to buy more chickens and hens to sell. She hopes that Kiva will be able to support these activities, to be able to continue working.
