Mujeres Virtuosas De Berlin Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to restock Guadalupe's store with new products.

Mujeres Virtuosas De Berlin Group's story

Enthusiasm and a desire to work hard are two of the traits that characterize 29-year-old Guadalupe, the married mother of two children (10 mos. and 3 yrs.). She was fortunate to attend school and has a diploma in business administration but does not work in that field. Her education has helped her be successful in her convenience store where she also sells flavored shaved ice confections and catalogue products. Now it is time for her to restock the shelves of her store. She is requesting her third Kiva loan to buy new products along with personal care and cleaning items.

Guadalupe, along with six other ladies, is a member of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Mujeres Virtuosas de Berlín” in the department/state of Quetzaltenango. They have convenience stores and sell delicious regional snack foods, as well as personal care products.

The women appreciate being able to access loans with low interest and monthly payments, part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education and health care services. Their monthly educational trainings are useful for them and drawn from four areas: health, family, women, business. They empower themselves and raise their self esteem! Every two months, the ladies have access to basic health care services.

Guadalupe and her friends cannot access credit in a bank. Kiva investors, partnering with Friendship Bridge, are a huge help to them. Thank you to each of you!
