Mercy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more cereals and improve her cereal trading business to make more profits to support her family.

Mercy's story

Mercy is a 25-year old single woman living in Bomet, an area with hilly scenery that is good for camping and hiking.

She is a resourceful woman who has been practicing mixed dairy and crop farming. Mercy has also been practicing cereal trading.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo in partnership with Kiva, is in the forefront in combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs at this difficult period.

Mercy’s cereal trading business has also been adversely affected by COVID-19. She is requesting this loan to buy more cereals and improve her cereal trading business.

Mercy is hopeful that Kiva lenders are going to respond positively to her loan request.
