A loan helped to purchase a bag of raw peanuts to stock her kitchen and increase her income.

Leimalapa Netty's story

Leimalapa Netty is fifty-four years old and married with eight children, four of whom are her own and four of whom are adopted. Her children are thirty-two, twenty-eight, twenty-six (twins), nineteen (two children), thirteen, and eleven. Her two youngest are still attending a local school. Leimalapa Netty lives with her husband and children in her own home, which is located 30km from Port Vila city. Her village is small, and the main industries there are agriculture and food. Although Covid-19 has affected Vanuatu, earning income has been quite all right.

Leimalapa Netty has asked for a loan to help her purchase a bag of raw peanuts to stock her kitchen and roast for her valuable customers. She wants to be able to meet her customers' high demand for roasted peanuts. With the earned revenue, she will make a small extension to her home, which will be her home kitchen.

Leimalapa Netty has now been in business for over two years. She wishes to start selling ice cubes and ice pops which, will provide extra income to her family.

This is her third loan from South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been devoted to her previous loan repayments. As she slowly grows through her loans, Leimalapa Netty is empowered to expand her business so that her children can have something for their own.
