Meleane's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy raw materials for her craft business and also help with her children's school needs.

Meleane's story

Meleane is 38-years-old and mother to eight children. Her husband is a farmer and they live in their own home.

Currently she runs a craft business where she makes kiekie, male's taovala, waist strings and much more, using nothing but raw and natural materials such as hibiscus, pandanus, mulberry and also coconut materials. Her main helpers are her husband and children. They help with preparing and braiding the raw materials.

Meleane has her own craft room at the local market in town where she displays the work of her hands. Her business has been affected by COVID-19 as her main buyers are usually tourists, but due to the restrictions there are no tourists at the moment.

Nevertheless, her business continues to run but Meleane has had to decrease her prices to more affordable ones.

She has applied for a loan to help buy raw materials for her business and to also cover her children's educational needs.
