Mwenda Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

Mwenda Group's story

Colette is a Hekima IMF customer and presides over the village group, "MWENDA". She is married, 37 years old and mother of seven children including 6 in school. Her partner is a nurse.

She is a local drinks seller and she began this business 15 years ago with start-up funds from her husband. Later she joined the Hekima programme to support her business, during which time it has evolved progressively. With this new loan she will stock up with corn flour and cassava flour which will boost her initial capital. The threat to her business comes from badly mixing the local drink.

She would like her children to continue their studies and to be able to feed her family. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they give to owners of non-bankable businesses in the context of this global crisis linked to Covid-19. The photo is only of the leader of the group because of Covid-19 related social distancing measures.
