Lehi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase two bags of peanuts, raw materials and food ingredients to stock up her kitchen and increase her income.

Lehi's story

Lehi lives in a rural district that is located 6 kilometres away from Port Vila city. Her community is very small, and the main industry is food. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been quite alright for one to earn income, as locals are always supporting each other.

Lehi is 43 years of age, and her partner works for a local beverage manufacturer. She has four children aged 26, 18, 9 and 7. The three youngest are still attending school, but not the oldest. She lives in her own home with her children and partner.

Lehi has requested a loan to help her purchase two bags of peanuts to roast so she can sell to her customers, and also to purchase raw materials and food ingredients to cook and sell at affordable prices for her customers. The demand for her food products has increased; therefore, she would very much like to increase the quantity.

With the earned revenue, she will save up so she can purchase a piece of land and build her family their own home.

Lehi has been in her business for over a year now. She wants to own her own food vendor so she can sell her food products in a place where locals and visitors pass by. South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd has helped her for over a year, and this is her second loan. She has been faithful in her first loan repayment. Being able to own and run her business motivates her to expand and become a successful businesswoman.
