A loan helped to buy a motorized cultivator machine to help expand her area of veggie production.

Agueda's story

Agueda is a 49-year-old Mozambican woman. She is married and lives in Maputo province with her husband and their 3 children.

Agueda is an excellent farmer. She runs a 12 hectares area in Infulene Valley, where she produces a variety of veggies such as parsley, coriander, basil, tomato, onion, garlic, cabbage, lettuce, and cucumber, which she distributes to a range of hotels and supermarkets in the city of Maputo.

Together with her husband, Agueda runs 4 tropical greenhouses, where she produces high quality veggies in a protected environment. However, demand is continuously growing, and Agueda needs to satisfy her clients. For this reason, she intends to expand her area of production by preparing a new plot for veggie production.

Currently, Agueda is requesting her first Kiva loan, which she will use to buy a motorized cultivator machine to help expand her area of veggie production.
