Calisto's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to set up a handcrafted greenhouse to help him to produce more veggies in the next season.

Calisto's story

Calisto is an 64-year-old Mozambican man. He is single and lives in Namaacha District in Maputo Province.

Calisto has a background in agriculture and a long-time experience in crop production. He started commercially producing in 2009. He produces multiple veggies such as cabbage, carrots, green pepper, tomato, and lettuce.

Considering the fact that the market continually demands fresh veggies, Calisto wants to invest more in this type of crops. However, he needs proper equipment in order to ensure a better quality of veggies to distribute in the local market.

Last year, Calisto requested his first Kiva loan to buy a tropicalized greenhouse to help him produce high-quality veggies and ensure a continuous income. Currently, Calisto intends to expand his business by covering an area of 600 meters square. That is why he is requesting his second kiva loan, to set up a handcrafted greenhouse to help him to produce more veggies in the next season.
