Tacku Liggey Group's story

The solidarity group TACKU LIGGEY is part of the Banc Villageois of Nguidile and was created on December 14, 2008. It is composed of eight women who are all from the same district. The women formed their group according to proximity and affinity. This means they are developing a good spirit of team work and sharing. Ms. Marème M. (see portrait inserted at the left in the photo) is the leader of the solidarity group. She is 47 years old, married, and the mother of seven children. She also has a child in her care who is entrusted to her by relatives. Marème operates diverse businesses, namely selling millet, fattening sheep, and raising local chickens. She has over ten years of experience in this business domain. Her loan will be used to advance her businesses by increasing her investments and buying more young ruminants, poultry, and millet. Her goal is to provide financial help to running the family in terms of health care, food, and schooling, as examples.
