but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase firewood, maize, lime powder (calcium hydroxide), bags, etc.

Una Mano Amiga Group's story

Gleydin is 26 years of age, and lives with her partner and two children. She works making tortillas and ground coffee, and also has income from the sale of firewood. She opened her small business four years ago, from the need to generate more economic income for her family's wellbeing. Gleydin learned the trade on her own.

She is requesting a loan from Fundenuce to purchase firewood, maize, lime powder (calcium hydroxide – used to prepare maize for the production of tortillas), and bags; with these supplies she will increase the stock in her business. With the loan she hopes to strengthen her business and increase sales, and obtain an increased economic income.

Her aspiration is to watch her children grow and support them so that they can become professionals.

In this group from left to right we have Cecilia (who sells tortillas, ground coffee, and cooked beans), Gleydin (who sells tortillas, ground coffee, and firewood), Martha (who sells tortillas, ground coffee, and nacatamales – Nicaraguan tamales), Elba (who sells tortillas, ground coffee, and cosmetics), María (who sells basic grains), and Apolonia (who sells tortillas, ground coffee, and nacatamales).
