Mable's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more clothes of different kinds for resale.

Mable's story

Mable is 25 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has one child, who is currently in school. For the past 3 years, Mable has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes.

To help expand her business, Mable has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more clothes of different kinds for resale and will help Mable generate greater profits. The profits will help her pay her mother's medical bills and pay rent for the boutique.

Mable hopes that she will be able to buy a plot of land as of next year.

Mable is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small-group members like Mable, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
