01_Thieo Group's story

Created in December 2010, this banc villageois is made up of 16 women. The women live in the same village, and they are relatives and friends. They all get along well together. The women work primarily in commerce and agriculture. They have successfully repaid over 10 loans.

Rokhaya is 64 years old. She is standing on the right in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and a mother of three sons, who are in school. She works selling vegetables and fruit juices. She buys vegetables, boabab fruit, hibiscus, sugar, and other ingredients from the central town market and resells them from her home. She has done this now for one year.

With this loan, Rokhaya is going to buy potatoes, carrots, one sack of baobab fruit, one sack of hibiscus, and one sack of sugar. She is doing well, because she manages to sell her goods. She uses her profits to increase her savings, manage her needs, and pay her children's school fees.
