Ana María's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy firewood, water, sawdust, and palm hearts for making bricks.

Ana María's story

Ana María and her family live in the town of Montecristi, Ecuador. This is a place of honest people dedicated to working in agriculture and handicrafts. This area has also been very affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ana María is a woman who, together with her husband, fights day after day in order to move forward, and they are being successful thanks to Kiva loans. They have a business making bricks (material used for building homes), and they make the bricks as well as deliver them to businesses (whether delivered to work sites or other locations preferred by customers). Currently their sales have improved little by little since due to the pandemic and the winter months their sales went down, but now they are selling more and they hope to continue.

This loan will be used to buy firewood, water, sawdust, and palm hearts, which are the materials that they use for making bricks.
