A loan helped to purchase stock in bulk to increase her profit margin.

Ajaratu's story

Ajaratu is a 26-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and children in the Karaga district of Ghana. She operates a business selling clothes. Ajaratu is requesting a Kiva loan to purchase stock in bulk to increase her profit margin. She plans to use the profits she earns to pay her children's school fees and her own school fees and support her family's daily needs.

To repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan, she will volunteer two and half hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, guiding less experienced CAMFED Association members through a range of personal and entrepreneurial issues.
