Tenika's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a single mom grow her Lady Carpenter business with tool storage and hiring quality professionals.

Tenika's story

It is my dream to be able to travel, with my children in tow, and use my skill as a carpenter to help people around the world, mainly Africa ghana initially. With Pittsburgh, PA as my base, I want to establish international connections and relationships that even my children and future grandchildren will benefit from. One of the really cool things about my first Kiva loan is that I was able to build connections with lenders around the world. Carpentry has given me a sense of empowerment and financial confidence that allows me to provide for my children as a single mother. The value that I feel as the lady carpenter makes me proud to serve my community. The thing about this business that I am most proud of is the woman that I have become. I am someone that my children are 'proud of'.
