A loan helped a single mom to expand her small business and enhance the life of her furry clients.
I am an animal lover and advocate. I was born and raised in Jalisco, Mexico where I started my own farm at 8 years old. This would always cause me problems with my mom because she doesn't like animals. Mostly when I started rescuing stray dogs and getting them fixed to rehome to loving families. This is because at one point I had around 8 dogs just roaming around the house. During school breaks I would go to help my aunt who owns a grooming/vet business and she taught me everything about dogs. At the age of 16 we moved to Chicago, and spent 8 years as a stay-at-home mom. Meanwhile I would groom my friend's dogs just for fun. Once I had to start working again I tried to be a server. Money was good but I wasn't happy. That's when I decided to follow my passion for pets and became a certified dog groomer. Now for over 2 years, I have been enjoying this beautiful path of caring and loving all pooches I can get my hands on. When I adopted my girl, Laila. A long-haired german shepherd, who is allergic to may things; I realized that her medicine wasn't helping ease her symptoms. So I started using a more natural approach to treat her skin issues. Oatmeal baths, mineral mud scrubs and natural shampoos helped her to be a happy dog again. As a dog groomer, I've seen how many dogs suffer from the same skin conditions. That's why I created Bohemian Spaw, a company that believes in using natural products with a holistic approach. My whole vision is to create a line of natural, organic and eco-friendly products that will treat skin conditions, and a relaxing space that will give more pets a soothing grooming experience.
