A loan helped to purchase foodstuffs like rice, palm oil, pepper, fish and other assorted items to increase her business.

Tenneh's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 40-year-old Tenneh from Wilberforce branch. She is widowed with three children between the ages of 1 and 17 years old and all of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Tenneh runs a retail business where she sells cookery and other assorted items. She has been in this business for five years now. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID 19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food stuffs such as rice, palm oil, pepper, fish and other assorted items to increase her business. Tenneh says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to establish on a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
