A loan helped to buy farming inputs, in order to improve the production of her farm and increase her family's income.

Annah's story

Annah is a 60-year-old-woman. She lives in Eldoret, a town whose surroundings have great agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. She is a hardworking woman who has farmed for the past many years.

Annah seeks a loan to buy farm inputs, in order to improve the production of her farm and make more income for her family. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is lack of short-term credit. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

She hopes that all Kiva lenders are adhering to the safety measures in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
