Diana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as certified seed and fertilizers, in order to increase her horticulture crop harvest.

Diana's story

In different points of her life, Diana (pictured above) experienced failures. Though she failed to secure decent employment, her hopes and dreams for a better life were not destroyed.

Diana has lovely children, which is why she works very hard to meet her family's needs. She has wide experience in horticulture crop and dairy farming. She has mastered farming activities, such as growing and harvesting, and earns income from selling her crops.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of agricultural success. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, who is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in inputs availability.

Diana requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo to buy farm inputs, such as certified seed and fertilizers, in order to increase her horticulture crop harvest and eventually improve her living conditions. This change will help her meet increasing market demand for food and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan. It will improve her family's quality of life and pay for her children's education.
