Baindu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 50-year-old Baindu from Wilberforce branch. She is a widow with two children, aged 21 and 28 years, and both of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Baindu runs a retail business and sells food stuffs and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 16 years now. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19 pandemic.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food stuffs; rice, palm oil, pepper, fish and other assorted items to increase her business. Baindu says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family welfare. In the future, she would like to establish it to a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
