Susan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more clothes of different types to sell.

Susan's story

Susan is 29 years old and lives in the town of Mattugga, which is in the region of Kawempe in Uganda. She is married and has three children, two of whom are currently in school. For the past four years, Susan has been working hard to manage her boutique where she sells all types of clothes for adults.

To help expand her business, Susan requested a loan of 1,800,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more clothes of different types to sell. This will help Susan generate greater profits so that she can manage to pay her mother’s medical bills and the rent for her boutique. In the future, Susan hopes to buy a plot of land next year.

Susan is a member of BRAC’s microfinance program that serves small group members who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have growing businesses that qualify for microloans.
