Christine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more men's T-shirts, women's dresses, trousers, and skirts to sell.

Christine's story

Christine is 24 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe, which is in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has two children, one of whom is currently in school. For the past eight years, Christine has been working hard to manage her boutique where she sells all types of clothes for men and women.

To help expand her business, Christine requested a loan of 2,500,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more men's T-shirts, women’s dresses, trousers, and skirts to sell. This will help Christine generate greater profits so that she can improve her family’s standard of living, provide enough food for her loved ones, and take care of her children. In the future, she hopes to buy land so that she can build rental houses for an additional business.

Christine is a member of BRAC’s microfinance program that serves small group members who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have growing businesses that qualify for microloans.
